NO.2 Health Boosting Chi Gong ( Qi Gong)

By way of NO 2. program ( Dawu ) functions as a therapeutic method of removing stagnancy and obstruction in the body as well as easing joint movement, promotes the free flow of QI and blood in the channels of joints so as to clear the channels and collaterals that are linked to Lower Dantian acupoint.

Initial Stance

1. QI flows to Diantian acupoint to relieve the internal organs and relax the muscles and bones. The position promotes the

circulation of QI and blood to get prepared for the exercise.

2. Quiet your mind. When your mind is quite, the QI is held; when the QI is held, expression is controlled. This is good for

    psychological regulation.

Specifically, Dawu Qigong helps boost one’s health in the following ways:

1. Improves blood distribution in the thoracic cavity and abdominal cavity by squeezing and pressing acupoint Shentao (Du

    11) from hand and head.

2. Promotes the ascending and descending of qi xue in the whole body by the swing of arm/s; Open up Du Channel to nurse

sanjiao (triple warmer) by stretching both hands and feet at the same time; Promote the circulation of QI in qi xue or

Lower Dantian acupoint of the ligaments around soft tissues centering around the joints.

3. Promotes the liver’s function to regulate the supply of blood and govern the normal flow of qi and promote the spleen’s

function to transport and transform nutrients by massaging acupoint Tapao (Major Luo-Connecting Point of the Spleen,

Sp 21) and twisting the spinal column.

4. Functions very well on the heart and the lung as a physiotherapeutic technique by dropping waist and sticking up hip to

coordinate the functions of Du Channel and Ren Channel as well as that of the heart and the lung.

5. Improves the cervical vertebra conditions by stretching the spinal column in reverse direction. Works as traction to

strengthen the joints’ flexibility and stability. As a result, Dawu qigong is effective in protecting and rehabilitating the joints

in the spinal bones, cervical vertebra, lumbar vertebra, and the lower limbs. Since twistingt spinal column can stimulate

nervous centralis and nerve root, the dance has the function of restoring and treating injured nerves as well as correcting

fractured and dislocated bones. It can also produce an effect in promoting blood circulation to remove obstruction in the

    channels.

6. Works to ease and give keep-fit massage to muscle strain in lumbar and legs. Hip swinging while dancing can bring about

the movement of the spinal column followed by that of the four limbs --- a very good massaging effect on the spinal

column and the internal organs. This therapeutic effect nurses the Ren Channel (Anterior Midline Channel) and the Chong

    Channel (Vital Channel).

7. Strengthens the practitioner’s ability to ward off diseases by knocking the Gallbladder Channel and vibrating Dantian (Elixir

Field) to allow a free circulation of QI.

8. Release stagnated lung-energy ( QI ) and clear the channels, ensuring the flow of qi through the channels. Through

acupoint Tatun (Jing-Well Point, Liv 1) in the toes, tiptoeing outward soothes the liver and regulates the circulation of QI.

9. Gives keep-fit massage to the internal organs by the moving up and down of the heart and abdomen.
